A beautiful, restrained love story that should have made Elizabeth Reaser a star
Pros: Reaser's performance, nearly matched by Tim Guinee Cons: It's first 10 - 15 minutes are VERY slow. Bottom Line: Minnesota 1920 -- Elizabeth Reaser is Tim Guinee's German Mail-Order Bride in Sweet Land
Pros: Great acting, intriguing story that's easy for all to relate to Cons: Pacing is a bit slow Bottom Line: The Sweetness of Enduring Love: Sweet Land (2005)
Pros: Cinematography; script; creative narrative style. Cumming, Reaser, and Guinee (and strong supporting cast). Cons: Opening scene may feel initially confusing. Go back and watch it again at end. Bottom Line: Sweet Land- A touchingly sweet movie the entire family can enjoy
Pros: A beautifully told story of finding love between two strangers. Cons: None Bottom Line: Intolerant Christianists in western Minnesota, A.D. 1920
Pros: Elizabeth Reaser and the rest of the cast, David Tumblety's cinematography, making-of featurette Cons: details (see review), opening, doubts about relenting by the shunners Bottom Line: Sweet Land: German Mail-Order Bride Goes To Priggish Minnesota~
Pros: Reiser, Guinee and supporting cast; enjoyable story; looks great Cons: first ten minutes; three layers Bottom Line: Realistic Sweetness Of Love And Land
Pros: Very good cast; good cinematography; nice love story starting in early 20th century Cons: Minor things about interior home shot angles but no biggie Bottom Line: |
