The Forester is again available in two models: Forester L and Forester S. For 2001, the front and rear styling has been revised for a more upscale appearance, and new standard features have been added. Standard features on all models now include an outside temperature gauge, in-glass antenna, rear center headrest, and 3-point seatbelts that are now located in all seating positions. The Forester S model now includes standard features such as color-keyed outside mirrors, Titanium Pearl lower body side cladding, leather steering wheel, and redesigned alloy wheels. Optional equipment includes a remote keyless entry system, a four-speed automatic transmission, the Protection Group, and the Premium Package
