Large display for a compact screen

The Bottom Line:
If you are cramped on space in your home office and need a good, hip display on your desk, this is the unit to get.
I'm currently using this TFT LCD display at work on my somewhat small desk. While the screen was setup by my IT department, using this screen has been a cinch.
The screen itself comes in an elegant and simple design that is very attractive to the eye. The six buttons on the right are hardly noticeable on a day-to-day basis. This particular monitor has been passed around a lot and to date, there are no dead pixels and no noticeable wear and tear.
The screen itself is bright and clear and the colors are pretty vibrant. However, there are some times when certain fonts don't appear as clear as they should be. The screen has a very wide viewing angle comparable to some plasma TV's. The anti-glare coating on the screen works really well and I have zero problems with this unit; but unfortunately, I think it also dulls down some of the colors in the process.
Unlike a laptop LCD, if someone were to poke their finger at the screen, there is very little liquid distortion. Also, the casing is built very sturdy, unlike many of the laptop screens.
The back of this unit is just as posh as the front. Sony designed a slick slide cover that hides the power cord and the signal connections. This not only helps prevent dust build up in hard to clean places, it also makes the unit very cool. Thank you Sony for taking this extra step in design!
Installing the screen was a breeze, most of the time a simple hook-up is all that's needed to get the computer to recognize the screen.
I don't currently have a desktop at home, but if I did, I would totally get this monitor in a heart beat. Sony KNOWS their displays and this monitor has some of the clearest LCD displays I have seen; and it is much better than some of the Dell LCD's that I've purchased in the past.
