Happy husband

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Very comfortable for an entire movie; sounds very good as normal stereo

Cons: "simulated Dolby" is echo-y; volume control is hard to manipulate

Bottom Line:
Very comfortable - probably even on multiply pierced ears. Very good to excellent sound for an average user in stereo mode. Our houseguests liked them also. Read More

The sound is OUT THERE!

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Very smooth response;well-made; unaffected by RF interference; both digital(optical) and analog inputs.

Cons: Requires line-of-sight to transmitter; No coaxial digital input. Bass is heard, not felt.

Bottom Line:
I think they're a great choice for the critical HT buff who won't compromise on sound, but wants to avoid disturbing others. Highly recommended. Read More

All you need to know about Sony's DS5100

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Have your own private surround system without bothering other people. Very comfortable headphones. Cool features.

Cons: It takes some time adjusting to listening to surround through headphones. Weak bass.

Bottom Line:
Only buy this system if you have reasons not to buy a real speaker system. Just don't believe it'll sound exactly like a real speaker setup; besides/that, very/satisfying sound&experience. Read More

Sony MDR-DS5100 review.

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Perfect for small apartments.

Cons: Price

Bottom Line:
For what it does, it actually exceeds my expectations. Can it replace surround sound with speakers and a sub woofer? No , but for what they're intended for, excellent. Read More

Not as advertised

Author's Rating: Rating: 2/5 stars

Pros: Lightweight...Automatic shutoff of headphones

Cons: Surround effect is marginal No tone controls..pricey, no remote control

Bottom Line:
I cannot recommend, the lack of bass response takes away from movie enjoyment, and the surround effects are not dramatic enough. Read More
