Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DVP-NC665P/B stands ready to deliver the full potential of your DVDs through Sony's Precision Cinema Progressive de-interlacer (scanning) with 3:2 pulldown processing. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Outstanding 5-Disc DVD Player

Author's Rating: Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: Smooth operation, Sony quality, Plays all kinds of discs including DVD RW.

Cons: Nothing of consequence.

The Bottom Line:
I like this unit so much I'll probably purchase a couple other identical models for elsewhere in the house.

Author's Review
I wanted a new DVD player that would flawlessly play my DVD RW discs as well as my wide collection of DVDs. The 665 does all that and the icing on the cake is that it's a high quality Sony DVD 5-disc player for less than $200. It may lack some DVD bells and whistles (such as a zoom feature and being able to select a specific disc from the remote instead of switching in sequence) but it handles the basics with aplomb. I like this unit so much I'll probably purchase a couple other identical models for elsewhere in the house.
