I replaced a Medion dvd recorder in the mistaken belief that a Sony would be better. I echo the experience of other users - complete disaster. I am a gadget freak and I pride myself that I can get anything to work, but this has me beat. It is not heavily used - hardly surprising since it takes two minutes to think whether to even open the tray for you - but it recently (well within warranty) decided to do nothing except display "HDD error". So it has become a flat silver coloured brick. Do Sony want to help? What do you think? Avoid this product, and think carefully about anything Sony, because you will get no support. When my cheap and cheerful Medion needed an upgrade, it was possible to do it on the website. All Sony want to do is sell you more Sony products. No thanks!
