Great Video & Still Photo
| Author's Rating: |

Pros: Great video, megapixel CCD, memory stick, SONY
Cons: Not so good under low light indoor, Bit pricier than other similar mods
Originally I baught the TRV11 because I read that it has awesome video quality, but not so good still photo capabilities. But I still decided to get it because I thought still photo would not be important.
After I got it, i found that I wished the still photo would turn out better, and I found myself use the still photo mode more than I thought. Recently, my TRV11 got stolen, and instead of getting a replacement, I opted to upgrade to the TRV20, because it has a megapixel CCD which takes awesome stills, as well as the larger 37mm lense, plus the LCD has higher pixel count.
Another cool toy is the memory stick, it's ALOT smaller than I thought, it's shorter than my ... no, not that.. it's shorter than my littler finger! =) and just a tiny bit thicker than a credit card. It comes with a wimpy 4 MB memory card, play with it, if you feel like you could use more, a 64 MB one is only about 100 USD at most places.
The only thing I am disappointed is that during low lighting indoor condition, the still photo turns out quite grainy, but as soon as there's enough light, the picture turns out perfect. I guess this issue is the same with any other consumer level 1 CCD camcorders... I am currently looking into getting a video light for it, which future buyers should definitely look into investing in a light as well. I've read the 3watt lights barely does anything, so I am leaning more towards 10w or 20w one. But I'll probably try out the 3w video light with flash first.
So if you are considering a TRV11, I would take a serious look at the TRV20, which is just 2-3 bills more than the TRV11.
