After 9 months of ownership we are SO happy with our purchase. Excellent digital stills, great videos & free hardcopies for friends from Sony!
My husband & I have had Sony camcorders for years and they are long lasting & out perform other brands. Our last purchase was an 8MM back in 1983 for a trip to London & it still works!
He wanted a digital still camera ($1000 for Mavica 93) and learned via the Net of the Sony DCR-TRV720 that is a digital camcorder & still all in one unit for $1200 at Sears. So we bought it, with 2 memory sticks, battery & charger from the Sony site that also gave us 10 8x10 photos FREE per month from Imagination.com (or something like that). Sears included a free case & tripod. Sony had their Laser Link at $50 with a $50 rebate. After 4 months, no rebate, so we took the link back since it doesn't work as the ad shows.........has to be same height as camera
We have done 2 cruises (Alaska & S Caribbean) and the videos are fabulous as well as the framed blowups that are magazine cover quality. You can also view the regular 8 mm videos on it as well as the Hi 8 it presently uses. The pull out screen makes for excellent viewing of what you shot or to delete photos from the memory stick. The $50 charger is fast & small enough to fit in my purse.
Even in total darkness you have great videos & photos since your computer software can lighten them a touch. This is one great product!!!!
