With the DCR-PC5, Sony achieved super compactness and no degradation in quality as the DCR-PC5 meets the demand of customers for an "All-In-One" and "Feature Rich" camcorder in a small package. Its super compact size is 16% smaller compared to a previous model. The DCR-PC5 provides the same excellent digital picture quality that customers look for in a Sony Handycam. With the addition of the Progressive Shutter System, customers can capture great looking still pictures and store them through the built-in Memory Stick slot. I/O Terminals are also not a problem as there is no need to use adapters. There is even a RS232C (Serial) interface built-in.

Good camera but is it really worth the price?

Pros: small, excellent sound and picture
Cons: price, no editing
The Bottom Line:
THe camera is a good little camera but too expensive if you can find one under $700 then buy it otherwise your getting ripped.
I bought the supposibly top pick camera by Cannon for 1500 I dont know what I was thinking but I bought it and it was a mistake. First of all when you record a video you cant go back and edit it I mean if the camera cost over 1000 dollars you think youll be able to see through clothes, but you can even edit on the camera that was a real down fall. Another thing is that the camera seems to fragile when you open the little split screen you can see that only 2 plastic little little attacher things are holding it I mean if you accidently drop this camera its a gonner for sure, but this camera does have its good points with the night shot and the excellent sound and picture but cmon 1,500 dollars I mean i could have bought a car.
