Pros: AA batteries, multi-point focus
Cons: Shutter, oh the shutter
The Bottom Line:
I wish it hadn't broken, we would have used it for a long time more.
Very easy to use. Requires easily accessible AA batteries, or you can charge the Ni rechargeable that come with the camera.
We bought this camera in early 2004 as a wedding gift. We thought it would be a great idea for a young couple. We have since used it to take thousands of pictures of our children. It doesn't require an installation of software (on the Mac). It's so easy to download pictures into iPhoto, but make sure you eject it properly, otherwise even though there aren't any pictures left on the memory card, there is like ghost pictures taking up space, so it'll look like you have no space and no pictures and you have to reformat the card.
Made in Japan. The plastic doesn't feel cheap like the new Sony materials.
Wish I could post some of the pictures I have taken with this camera, they really did turn out nice for a point and shoot.
I liked the rubbery USB cover, seems like it would stay on no matter what! The pixels never seemed like they were inadequate. I liked the options, and the auto-focus, that I could turn off and on the flash.
I LOVED this camera until the shutter broke. BAD SOUND as the gears went out. "turn off and back on" -- or something like it, it says. Then it was ALL over, a $100 fix which in today's standards buys you a new camera. So we bought a new camera.
