Cheap Camera for begginers

Pros: Great picture quality, easy to use, price.
Cons: Bulky and big, only 2x zoom.
The Bottom Line:
Good, cheap camera for anyone to use comfortably
Even though this camera is pritty bulky it has lots of quality features for a very reasonable price. I got mine from amazon for about £150 but now you can get it for cheaper at £137.99 with free delivery or $176 from http://www.6ave.com/product.jsp?x=DSCP52&zipz=11001.
This price is very good for the quality of pictures you gain. You get 3.2 megapixels and on the computer screen it looks great.
In the menu you can easily adjust settings to get the best picture due to surrounding light. The menu's are very easy to use.
The zoom is only 2x but when you do zoom in you get the same good quality picture.
The LCD is a nice size of 1.6" and shows good quality images.
You get AA rechargeble batteries and I was surprised how long they last, lasting a few hours.
The memory stick provided is 16mb which is ok, but you should probably invest in a bigger capacity but they aren't as cheap as other memory cards. But if you have other sony products you can use the memory cards with them.
The USB connectivity is very easy to use you can either use the sony software provided. But if you have windows xp i find it easier to just plug it in and use xp's quick wizard to get the pictures copied on to my computer.
The camera has a few Picture effects for a bit of fun -
Black & White
Solarize
Sepia
Negative Art
This camera can also record movies using mpeg. The length of the movie depends on what memory stick size you have, but it is good for short 3min movies and fun to use.
Overall this camera is a cheap versitile companion to a person who just wants to take pictures on holiday, day out or a night out with friends. Although you will have to put it in a bag as you won't be able to fit in you pocket comfortabily.
Just recently took some great pictures on a sunny day at wimbledon with it. I think its a good camera.
