Best medium priced PDA, with all features I wanted except camera

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Compact, clear screen, comfortable, voice memo (great mic), good keyboard, high value for price

Cons: No camera

The Bottom Line:
This is the best medium priced PDA for its time. Besides camera, it has every feature you could want from a PDA plus keyboard.

Author's Review
For the price level of the TG50, I considered it a great deal. After owning it for four months, I still do.

The two reasons I chose the TG50 are for its great keyboard and all around features. Unlike most PDA's, the TG50 is actually balanced enough so you can type with one hand (I type about 80% as fast). Other PDAs were big and unbalanced, so it was hard even typing with two hands. I'd highly recommend trying each one out in stores. Some people actually prefer Graffiti (stylus) input, but it's slower and less convenient in my opinion compared to keyboard.

Here's a summary of what I typically use my TG50 for:
1) Memos, record keeping, data transfer - syncs with my home and work PCs, where I can directly edit text on my PCs.
2) Voice memos - record thoughts and conversations (on high quality memos are crystal clear, the mic is excellent)
3) Pictures - I store mapquest maps onto my picture viewer (AcidImage Pro)
4) Study Japanese - I use Learn Alpha (free)
5) Viewing movies transferred from my PC
6) File transfer - turns my memory stick into a 256 mb reliable storage device between my home and work computers.

Suggestions for a buyer new to PDA's:
1) Try one out at a store, feel if it's comfortable to use.
2) If you have specific purposes for the PDA, find out what software is available for you. Some is free, some cost money. AcidImage is my best recommendation if you want to use a better image viewer than the default.

Differences from higher end (and more expensive) PDA's:
1) Resolution is 320x320, compared to 480x320 for some higher end PDA's.
2) No camera (or available addon for camera)
