My experience so far using this product has been great. My baby is due in about 4 days, and I wanted to have a great quality camcorder for years to come. I did my research, talked to my company's Media Expert, and he recommended Sony 100%. He asked me "Do you want a camcorder that will last you 10 years plus?" I said "Sure!" He said Sony is your camcorder, and the difference between Hi8 and Digital8 is mostly price since I'm just a future dad recording memories.

The camcorder is easy to use. You first have to charge the battery using the camcorder itself as the charger. The camcorder comes with a remote control, so once you connect it to your VCR to view your movie on your TV. Sony also sells a wireless link, but I see no point since the camcorder itself comes with the remote. I don't even know why they make the wireless link. That also costs about $80-$100.

When you buy a camcorder, make sure you also think about buying a tripod (approx. #30), camcorder bag (approx. $40), extra battery (between $50 to $150), and a UV lens to protect your main lens (about $5). I paid $500 for my camcorder, and with accessories, the price went up by $150. So, for $650 I got my camcorder kit.
