Pros: Lightweight, good quality, inexpensive
Cons: extra battery cost
I recently purchased the Sony CCD-TR416 Handycam camcorder after my brother bought one and I am thoroughly amazed at the quality of the picture and the versatility of the camera's functions. The "nightshot" function allows you to see in complete darkness. This is no exaggeration. The picture is almost black and white, but you can clearly see everything. The camera also has the ability to put titles on your videos, change the picture format(film etc...), and has different fade options to enhance the quality of your recording. And the quality of the normal picture is outstanding. I paid $349.00 for this camcorder and I feel it is the absolute best deal in camcorders. It is lightweight for easy carrying, and you can easily dub your videos to VHS or view them through your VCR. The only thing that I am not thrilled with is that it only comes with a 2 hour battery and extra batteries start at around $50.00. I think anyone who wants a great camcorder at a very reasonable price would enjoy this product.
