Slave Zero? More like Slave 8/10!

Pros: intense battles, great sound, completely realistic environments, aggressive AI, slave is the best character ever!
Cons: frame rate will sometimes slow down, some levels are very difficult
The Bottom Line:
I thought this game was amazingly average. It was fun and could've been a "classic" had Infogrames put a few more months of polish in it.
graphics:
it can be a mixed bag. all the ingame things look very good, yet the ingame cinematics look pretty crumby. the ingame is what really counts though, isnt it?! everything is colorful, yet looks quite realistic(for a typical futuristic city).
sound:
not the best sound in the world, but it does its job rather well. from the sound of mechs alerting when the know you're there to the noise of the mech running, it is all good. weapons firing, explosions, etc... are all very decent in quality. not the best sound you'll hear, but it is still pretty good.
gameplay:
the controls are very easy to use and are perfectly responsive, which is a good thing considering combat can be rather rigorous due to the aggression and efficiency of the AI. strafing and ducking behind buildings can save your life, and because of the ease of the controls, you can do that without any frustration. the framerate will sometimes drop however. The bad thing about it is the slowness endured by low frames, the good thing(sort of), is that it wont cause you to die because of it, it is still perfectly playable. the slowdown is nowhere near as bad as many people say. so apart from slowdown, perfect gameplay.
lasting appeal:
this game can take you a good while to finish depending on skill, but even after it is completed, many of the levels are fun to play for many more times than once. this is more of an action game, or a 1st person shooter in the 3rd person view. if you like anything exhilerating in a game, this is for you, however, for anyone completely new to the genre, or games in general, it will be too hard in the later levels. multiplay with friends is always a blast, some of the maps in multiplay are kind of lame, but it is still enjoyable with your friends. You can get this game for around $10-$20, which it is easily worth, for that price, buy it.
