I got this camcorder on my birthday, and was hesitant at first. I thought I would never use the thing, and it would just collect dust on my desk. I didn't pick up the instruction booklet, and still was making 45 minute movies, with fading in and out, and even if I wanted to get into the action, I used the very impressive remote control.
My friend also used this little wonder to check over his store. I lent him the camera and he plugged it into the wall and left the camera on all day, whenever a customer came in he pressed the record button and could zoom in on the customer to make sure that nothing suspicious was going on. It was great. The only problem is that you can't keep it on 24 hours a day because you would use up to much video tape. But for family occasions and just fooling around, I can tell you from experience that this is a fine camera to use.
Easy to maneuver and it has a very convenient large screen attached right onto it, so instead of looking through a little lens you get to see the scene in a big bright picture, the play back also includes sound on the camera, so if you want to show your friends some instant replay's of the last game real quick, just hit the rewind button and watch that two handed jam one more time.
