Pros: This unit easily cools the entire 1,109 sq. ft. of my home.
Cons: The highest fan speed is quite noisy. The automatic filter shutdown is annoying feature!!!
Just as in the previous review, I bought this air conditioner because I have very narrow windows plus the fact the unit has a rating of 10.8 at a lower price than most 10,000 BTU units.
Also, just like the previous review, the automatic filter cleaning reminder caused nothing but headaches! I think the entire idea of shutting the unit down is a totally worthless feature, a beep or other reminder would be quite sufficient. When the first one shut down and would not reset as per the instructions, I called Sharp and they offered no advice, so I returned the unit. Unfortunately, the store would not give a refund, only an exchange. The second unit did the exact same thing after a couple weeks. I decided to just sweat out the rest of the summer.
I am quite happy that I have found the previous review because I am moving and was about to trash the unit. I thought I would check on line one last time before it went in the dumpster.
