A gaggle of single Manhattan women experience the ups and downs of dating in this comedic HBO series that has earned wild popularity for its honesty regarding women's attitudes toward sex and relationships, as well as for its racy content. Sarah Jessica Parker stars as Carrie Bradshaw, the writer of a relationship column, who still has none of the answers. Though the men in her life come and go, Carrie is always surrounded by her friends: sex-hungry publicist Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), independent lawyer Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Park Avenue princess Charlotte York (Kristin Davis). The four women couldn't be more different in their careers and romantic lives, but they come together over laughter and tears, especially where men are concerned. This collection gathers all six seasons of the show loved by women (and secretly watched by men).

Pros: Great story line, excellent acting, great characters

I recommend this set because you can enjoy each episode of this excellent show again.
I was an avid watcher of Sex in the City when it was on HBO. I never missed an episode. I cringed when TBS announced it would air episodes. How could they take a show like this and make it OK to show on regular TV? They would certainly have to cut many scenes and it could never work on regular TV. How could they take the sex out of Sex in the City? So, I refused to watch it on TBS. I broke down and bought season six on DVD, but decided not to watch it until I bought each season. A year passed and I only had season one and six. I didn’t even open season one. Then, one day at Costco, I found the complete series on DVD for only $144. I quickly purchased it and have been watching one or two episodes each night. This show has got to be one of the best series that ever came from HBO. It is like watching it for the first time again. Following the lives of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda has never been more fun. Carrie’s dialog makes the show so fun. She shows her inner thoughts and feelings through her column. Samantha is forever exploring her sexual freedom. Charlotte has to be one of the funniest characters because of her uptight-seeming persona. She just wants to get married! Miranda is also a hoot with all of the problems that befall her (her many bad relationships). If you have ever enjoyed an episode of Sex in the City, I would recommend checking out this collection. You will not be sorry.
