A gaggle of single Manhattan women experience the ups and downs of dating in this comedic HBO series that has earned wild popularity for its honesty regarding women's attitudes toward sex and relationships, as well as for its racy content. Sarah Jessica Parker stars as Carrie Bradshaw, the writer of a relationship column, who still has none of the answers. Though the men in her life come and go, Carrie is always surrounded by her friends: sex-hungry publicist Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), independent lawyer Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Park Avenue princess Charlotte York (Kristin Davis). The four women couldn't be more different in their careers and romantic lives, but they come together over laughter and tears, especially where men are concerned. This collection gathers all six seasons of the show loved by women (and secretly watched by men).

The Bottom Line:
A classic in its own time
I love the fact that I can watch any of the episodes that I want. This is one of my favorite shows of all time! Even my husband has started to appreciate the humor. It has humor for both men and women! Everyone always wants to borrow my set. It was a completely worthwhile investment. The extra material is interesting as well. The comments are from Michael Patrick King and Sarah Jessica Parker. They give you insight into things that you probably wouldn't have noticed before. For example, in the opening credits, the bus that has the advertisement for Carrie's column has people on it and then when she turns around, there are no people on the bus. It is little things like that, that are kind of cool to see. It also gives insight into why they scripted and gave characters story lines, in the manner that they did. It is so great to be able to go back and watch the earlier episodes as compared to the latter ones. You can see how the characters have progressed and developed. It's almost as if the watcher has grown up with them through their 30s. Surely this will be a classic series that can be enjoyed in the future years to come.
