A gaggle of single Manhattan women experience the ups and downs of dating in this comedic HBO series that has earned wild popularity for its honesty regarding women's attitudes toward sex and relationships, as well as for its racy content. Sarah Jessica Parker stars as Carrie Bradshaw, the writer of a relationship column, who still has none of the answers. Though the men in her life come and go, Carrie is always surrounded by her friends: sex-hungry publicist Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), independent lawyer Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Park Avenue princess Charlotte York (Kristin Davis). The four women couldn't be more different in their careers and romantic lives, but they come together over laughter and tears, especially where men are concerned. This collection gathers all six seasons of the show loved by women (and secretly watched by men).

My experience with the Sex and the City series is a little bit more unusual then your "average" fan. I was without cable at my house and therefore did not watch the show during its run on HBO. On a recommendation, after the 6th and final season had aired, my sister rented the first season which with both watched and fell in love with. Ever since we've been hooked. When the release of this Sex and the City Gift Collection came out I knew it was time to invest in a collection of my own. The size and feel of the pink velvet cover of the collection really fits the fun, flirty nature of show. Once opened, each season is neatly placed in order from seasons one threw six. But along with the seasons there are mini descriptions of each of the episodes so that you and quickly find the episode of your choice. Another cool feature that this collection has is beautiful pictures of different cast members through out, so it almost feels like you're flipping through a book. One other feature that this collection has that the individual seasons do not is a bonus dvd. I will admit that I was a little disappointed in this dvd because i was hoping to have cast inverviews and behind the scenes. Instead it just has some cast photos, credits, and a couple of lame Sex and the City games. If you are looking for special features though, you'll be happy to know that there is quite a bit of that already included on the original seasons. (As the content of the different seasons has not changed from the original single seasons to this collection) You'll find features like wardrobe styling, awards won/award shows, commentary, and interviews with the cast. All and all this is probably one of the best dvd collections I own. Not only because this is my favorite show of all time but because it is beautifully put together and includes everything a superfan like me would look for.
