We've had this camera a few years with a minimum of use as we bought it for special events. We bought it because for the money it seemed like a good value, and the reviews I read here were reasonably good. However, after less than 5 hours total use, the visual display died, and it would not record. When the display shows, the screen remains dark, with occasional white lines across it. I found out the camcorder has a defective visual display. I contacted the manufacturer and they won't repair or replace it, since it's out of warranty. The camera worked great, was easy to use, and gave us quality pictures until it broke. Ease of use is irrelevant when the product won't work and can't be fixed. Unfortunately we now have a handful of partially filled tapes, and no camera. It's ended up costing us about $50 per use. I will never buy another product from this manufacturer again.
