Don't even consider them - unless...

Pros: Nicely adequate, once operational.
Cons: Fiddle and fuss; total unreliability.
The Bottom Line:
If you're desperate for a set of wireless, these are your best choice. If you can wait, then wait.
In concept, good.
The look, fair
In design, poor.
In quality, abysmal.
The concept: speakers-on-the-go... porch; patio; yard; pool.
The look: Ugly! Ugly, ugly, ugly! When will these techies haul their ideational butts out of the college dorms, and realize that that there are, among us, civilized souls with a sense of style and grace.
The design: if you're the set-the-volume-and-forget-it type, then these might be OK. But if you periodically adjust volume - to adjust for different types of music, or changing circumstances, then these things will drive you nuts... no central volume control rather, two speakers, each with its own. Adjust this; then adjust that; then re-adjust the first to synch with the second. What nonsense!
Worse yet, the volume controls have no markings; so you can't set the two by indicator.
Then there's the on/off "function." This, too, is not master-controlled. Turn off this one. Turn off that one. Then when you want to listen again, turn on this; then that; then twiddle and fiddle to get them balanced.
On the positive side, these speakers feature a "mode" switch. Each can be set to serve as a Right or Left speaker. Or it can be set to monaural. This is terrific. If you're seating is severely biased towards one of the speakers, set the speaker it to monaural. So also, if you're taking one of them out to the pool. Monaural is far superior to single-channeled "stereo".
The quality: stunningly poor. One speaker sounded great, right out of the box. The second was nothing but a squawk-box. I returned it for a swap. That speaker, too, was walkie-talkie in quality. Back to BestBuy for third try. This one was fine.
So I finally have a pair of wireless speakers that, after much home-and-returning, sound fine, but are miserable to use.
Sad thing is, there aren't many choices just now.
Suggest you forego the wireless, wait and watch, then jump on the "new and improved" which will surely follow.
UpDate:
1) After two weeks of use I find that one of the speakers fails to charge its rechargeable batteries. Back to the store for an exchange.
2) I find, as well, that soft musical passages are utterly lost in playback. For pop music, most jazz, etc., this wouldn't be a problem because the dynamic range of such music is miminal. But for classical music, where the louds can be very loud, and the softs can be very soft, setting volume for tolerable loudness completely washes out the soft. Large chunks of music simply don't come through.
Bottom line? Accoustic Research has serious quality-control problems. These problems are varied, pervasive, and inexcusable. And if you're a classical music lover, these speakers simply do not serve.
