READY 2 RUMBLE: Round 2 is the perfect sequel. The designers kept the intuitive gameplay, outstanding design and animation, and cast of characters from the first READY 2 RUMBLE, and they've delivered updated moves and boxers that result in a lot more fun. Just like before, players have low and high punches, lefts and rights, and they can attack with combinations and flurries. Building up a character from scratch consists of taking part in seven real-life boxing exercises: jumping rope, the heavy bag, the speed bag, the sway bag, rumble pads, lifting weights, and aerobics. These exercises are actually mini-games, which you can't slough off; you've got to do them well to get the benefit of the exercise. In the ring you can land a series of solid punches and build up your RUMBLE power. Once all the letters of RUMBLE are lit, you can punch your opponent out of the ring and practically into the parking lot. Minimize

Why'd they even bother

Author's Rating: Rating: 2/5 stars

Pros: You can make people fly out of the ring.

Cons: Everything good about the first game is gone.

The Bottom Line:
The only thing the second one could possibly do for you is give you something to level out a tilted table or something.

Author's Review
All right, now I tried Ready 2 Rumble Boxing the first time it came out, and I loved it. So I figured that the second one would be all the more better with better graphics and more impressive characters, well I was wrong. They took just about everything that was great about the first game, such as the close-ups of the boxers beaten faces and comments in the corners and...well basically threw them out the window. The matches are stale and all very much the same. The new characters aren't any different from the previous ones and the old characters haven't had anything changed at all...which I guess is all right since it seems when they decide to change something it's for the worse.

The training methods got worse, the saving inbetween fights is atrocious and the fights themselves can get very frustrating because as you lose fights, your character loses their abilities, so you never get stronger, only weaker. This was probably the most annoying addition to the game.

With no new game modes and a terrible career mode you're better off just sticking with the original.
