READY 2 RUMBLE: Round 2 is the perfect sequel. The designers kept the intuitive gameplay, outstanding design and animation, and cast of characters from the first READY 2 RUMBLE, and they've delivered updated moves and boxers that result in a lot more fun. Just like before, players have low and high punches, lefts and rights, and they can attack with combinations and flurries. Building up a character from scratch consists of taking part in seven real-life boxing exercises: jumping rope, the heavy bag, the speed bag, the sway bag, rumble pads, lifting weights, and aerobics. These exercises are actually mini-games, which you can't slough off; you've got to do them well to get the benefit of the exercise. In the ring you can land a series of solid punches and build up your RUMBLE power. Once all the letters of RUMBLE are lit, you can punch your opponent out of the ring and practically into the parking lot. Minimize

Author's Review
Normally, I am not a huge fan of boxing, but when I read reviews on Ready to Rumble, I had to at least give it a try.

When playing this game of the PS2, I was really impressed with how well the characters moved. There facial expressions and other body gestures were lifelike in movement. I thought the game flowed well, and the punches were complex and added a distinct flavor to the game. Also, the different kind of boxers were also distinct in personality, and were believable in how they moved, in comparison to their sizes.

The game has an arcade mode and a mode where you can train your boxer. I really can't give you specifics on the training mode, but from what I have seen so far, it is quite complex and takes some time to master. The arcade mode works great for those who dont have the patience to train their boxer, even though I feel that the difficulty is a bit too much for an arcade version.

To sum it up, this game is fun to play and it quite comical to watch the characters strut their stuff. There are even some guest appearances by stars such as Shaq and Michael Jackson (man, can the King of Pop hit!).
