A decent Home Theater Receiver

Pros: No better home theater receiver available at it's price point.
Cons: There are better home theater receivers for more money.
After owning the RXV2500 for a year, I am not overwhelming impressed, but at the same time, the receiver has performed satisfactorily and without fault within it's role.
While rated at 130W, in actual use, the amplification seems underpowered. The sound quality is impressive, as always. The overall flexibility of the receiver is excellent, with multiple component inputs and a modest degree of internal software programmability allowing the user to reassign video and audio input pairings.
The learning remote is adequate, but cluttered with too few distinctive buttons.
I've owned many Yamaha and Denon receivers over the last fifteen years, including several flagships models. My decision to purchase the 2500 was based on price for the included features, and at the price I paid ($700 at a retail store) it was well worth it.
