Pros: Cross cut a must, with enough shredding power to cut those high interest credit cards.

Excellent SOHO shredder. You can also use the shredded paper as packing material instead of expensive bubble wrap. Great value and good use for wasted paper.
What can you say about a shredder that's only function is to shred paper? I guess a lot b/c I'm here writing about my awesome 5 star GBC 85X crosscut shredder!
I decided to splurge and get the cross cut over the strip cut for 1 simple reason. You can still read the strips! The cross cut allows for better shredding and serves its purpose of semi-destroying documents. The 85x is perfect for SOHOs where document confidentiality is not at the Ollie North or Clinton doc shredding needs.
I love the 85X so much I decided to purchase another. Why? Because it doubles as a shipping filler. I use one to shred confidential docs and the other to provide me with filling for packages I ship out. Instead of throwing away printed paper I recycle thru the shredder and use it to fill my boxes.
So stop wasting money on the bubble wraps or other packing supplies. Just get the 85X and double it as a recycling bin.
