Painful for hip riding

The Bottom Line:
Not worth the money if you have a baby that will be held upright.
I purchased this at USA Baby when my daughter grew too heavy for our Baby Bjorn. When she hit 19 pounds it hurt my upper back and shoulders. I started carrying her in my arms on my side while doing chores. I thought that this product would free my hands up to do more around the house. Unfortunately, it has cords along each of the sides that you are supposed to tighten to secure the baby. One of the cords cut directly across my daughters back with just the thin canvas protecting her. After sitting in it for ten minutes she had a red mark across her back! In addition the sling/wrap did not distribute her weight evenly over my back and instead dug into my shoulder. I would not recommend this to anyone who is looking for a way to carry a toddler upright.
I plan to return the Baby-Bag and already purchased a Slingeeze from my lactation consultant. It came with a video and she let me try on a couple of sizes since with my height (5'11") I was borderline between the M & L size. The Slingeeze is much more comfortable for my daughter and me. It distributes her weight over my whole back so there is no shoulder pain, and the edges, which were corded on the Baby-Bag, are padded.
