Our Montana Works for Us

Pros: cost, good mileage

Cons: not as many bells and whistles as other more pricey vans

The Bottom Line:
This is a good van for the price.

We have a 2004 Pontiac Montana van. It works for us. We haven't had any major problems with the van. The drivers side window sticks when rolling it up. The same thing was a problem on our older Montana that we had previously.

The seating arrangement is nice, as we have the 8 passenger. This is quite convenient when having extra kids or family members to tote around. It would be nicer to have the seats that fold into the floor. The seats are easy to fold over and up, though, if we need the extra room at a moments notice. Each seat in the middle row is separate from each other, so it is easy to remove just one by itself in any of the positions.

We have the longer version of the van so there is plenty of storage room in the back.

The van gets decent gas mileage at 22-27 miles per gallon.

The Pontiac is comfortable to drive, though I think maybe the driver's seat could adjust back a little farther. I am not very tall and have it set all the way back to drive. The automatic seat also adjusts up and down and tilts, which is nice. A tall person might get a little cramped in there though.

Although the Montana doesn't have as many bells and whistles as other, more pricey vans, it is a good value. I would appreciate more cup holders, seats that fold into the floor, windows that rolled up without a problem, more storage compartments, better gas mileage, more safety features and other things, but all of that comes with a price. Overall this is a good safe van and a good value.
