2004 Pontiac Grand Am - Decent
| Author's Rating: |

Pros: Reliable, comfortable, handles well, low maintenance.
Cons: Flimsy interior.
The Bottom Line:
A good car for general use so long as the little things don't bother you.
I purchased this car used from a dealer and have generally been happy with the purchase. The car is fast, responsive, reliable, and comfortable. Some parts of the interior are a little flimsy and have fallen apart, but the main guts of the car hasn't given me any problems. Since purchasing the car about three years ago I've put about 40,000 miles on the car. Other than oil changes I haven't had to put any maintenance costs into the car.
My only gripes are some minor problems that I'm having... the control for the power mirrors somehow fell off and now I can't adjust my mirrors. The interior light doesn't always work unless I hit it just the right way, and there is something "clicking" in my driver's door whenever I open or close the door. Oh yeah, and the cigarette lighter doesn't work.
Sounds like a lot of problems, but they are all minor issues that would probably take less than an hour to fix if I really cared about them. Mechanically, this has always been a very sound car for me. As for performance, I've never had any issues with acceleration or handling.
I purchased this car for the price and performance during the test drive. I've never owned a pontiac before so this was a new experience, but certainly a good experience. I would certainly consider buying a new pontiac again in the future.
