Sporty yet sophisticated

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Rugged look, rear gate, stereo, powerful AC, mini cooler console, abundance of cupholders, large glovebox

Cons: rear hatch problems, gas mileage, visibility with rear window and spoiler

The Bottom Line:
Great for the outdoors type, yet sophisticated for the average businessman

My husband went car shopping for me and came home saying he found the perfect vehicle for me. We were trading in our minivan and I really wanted to keep the space. As we pulled into the dealership, I saw this rugged looking SUV sitting there with the plates on and ready to go. I got in for the test drive and my daughter said , "Mommy, can we have it?". I gave it a shot and as soon as my foot hit the gas pedal, I fell in love. It has an outdoors appeal to it. The interior is "rough" and the body is sleek. We especially liked the gate that you can sit on and have a picnic. Everything about the vehicle makes you want to be outdoors. The idea of having a cooler as the center console was a great idea. It is the best way to travel on small road trips and bring allow your favorite drinks and snacks. This comes in very handy when taking the kids to the Zoo or playground.
After coming home with it I started to notice a few minor issues with it. I do not like the void in my visibility with the rear window. A better construction of the rear window is needed. The hatch does not always unlock when pressing the release. Our Aztek has all the makings of a keyless entry vehicle, but yet no keyless entry. this makes it hard since there is only a keyhole on the driver side door. It can always be added down the road.

We do like I would do a few things different, but all-in-all this is a good find. Most of all, our daughters loves her new "aztak"!
