Coming home from a hard day's schedule of work and work-related surprises, as well as deadlines and projects to complete, the last thing I can conjour in my mind is how to entertain a 12 year-old. Then I found this game!
This game of games is the perfect idea! No violence or gory pictures to worry about, much less, no vulgar language. The optional levels it maintains makes it easy to entertain just about anyone. With it's own version of tetris, Pokemon has put alot of time creating this game to suit every level of player there is. This has no barriers in performance or age. There is no such thing as rising to the top and beating this game, It just gets faster. Great for teaching eye-hand coordination, I can now spend a couple of hours playing two-player with my 12 year-old and get beat everytime, or just let him play one player while I watch (and learn his secrets so I can beat him the next time).
One of the greatest things also about getting this game is that it has more than one style of playing as well as more then one type of game. No role-playing involved, just fast reactions and alot of laughs. Easy step-by-step instructions in the "options" room and you can even pick how fast you want to go in alot of the options for all the games.

On two-player mode, you competitor can even go slower or faster then you, which helps out when your reaction time isn't what it used to be, (just ask the kid).

Bright, vivid colors liven up the game and this games' simple game layout lives little room for confusion, unlike most games. Better played with a larger screen, the next time you run out of options with your child, (or significent other), especially during the raining season, pick this game up, you can't go wrong.
