Pros: It fits GM vehicles correctly, looks good.

Cons: OUTDATED SCREEN! ROTARY VOLUME KNOB: Have to turn it too many times.

It's outdated but fits GM vehicles. This model can handle a single subwoofer amp. If you need more, step up to the DEH-P77DH.

Well I bought this deck for my wife's '99 Pontiac Grand Am because for some reason, automobile manufactures were installing tape players and/or just AM/FM radios in vehicles until the last few years.

Can you believe that? Why did it take them about 20 years to make CDs standard in cars? Why did they want to hold onto tape players for so long? Die!

This is one of the probably 5 decks in the world that will properly fit a GM vehicle. I installed it myself. No problems.

It has a handy simple EQ. The graphics are nothing special. Pretty outdated really. They haven't updated this receiver in about 5 years at least. Pioneer probably has it figured that if you buy this deck, you are looking for the fit most of all. They don't have to load up on other features.

However, if you want alot of features, the "step-up" model, the DEH-P77DH has 3 sets of pre-outs, non-fading, built-in crossovers and EQ, blah blah blah. Still a crappy screen tho.

I do not feel that sound quality istop notch with either of these Pioneer decks. Kinda peaky. My Kenwood KDC-X815 blew them away, but it was also more expensive, and is a single-DIN deck.

The one thing I really disliked about both of these decks (I've owned both), is the rotary volume knob. I always thought it would be better than a button. Usually, in home audio yes. But for some reason in these decks, you have to rotate it about 5 times before the volume gets to a level that you want. It needs to be MUCH more sensitive.

I do not believe that this model came with a remote control either.

I never used the built-in alarm functions. It requires seperate parts to work.

Other than that, a decent deck.
