Inexpensive way to get a close shave from an electric

My old Norelco was starting to chew up my face a bit, and it was time to upgrade.  I knew I didn't want to spend 160 bucks on a new shaver, but things like self cleaning systems and one hour charges were not important to me.  I needed an affordable shaver that could give me a close shave but not break the bank.  No frills requied. 

This shaver has performed admirably.  First of all, this shaver is VERY silent, which is great since I leave early and I try not to wake my wife in the morning. 

On average, it takes about 3 minutes to shave with this unit.  I use a pre-shave product and Neutrogena after shave.  After one week, I haven't had those annoying little red bumbs on my neck AT ALL.  Usually, I've had some growing pains while acclimating to a new shaver, but not with this Norelco.  I also haven't had to recharge the shaver after an entire week's worth of use (including a few sideburn and back-of-the-neck trims with the included trimmer).

The trimmer accessory works very well on this unit.  I have used some trimmers that will occasionally "pull" a hair or two, which is very uncomfortable.
 
The unit is fully washable, which is a great feature.  You just open the top and run the heads under hot water for a minute and the shaver is clean.  A brush is included, as well. If you want to spend about 50 bucks and get a great shaver, this unit is perfect. 

The Norelco 7310XL is easy to use, easy to clean, and you get a close shave in minutes.  You could spend more to get some (in my opinion, unnecessary) bells and whistles, but this is a great choice.

There is even a 45 day money back guarantee if you don't like it.  You can't lose.  I highly recommend this shaver.   The ony negative I have is that a case is not included. I was able to fit the unit in the case from my old Norelco, but I thought it was odd that they couldn't included a 15 cent nylon bag with the unit.

UPDATE:  I am still using the Norelco 7310XL shaver as of August 2010 and it is still working great.  The battery still holds a great charge and it lasts the whole week.  I have not changed the blades and it still cuts just as well as if it were new.  I have dropped this shaver a few times and dropped it in the toilet once but it still works flawlessly.  Kudos to Norelco (or is it Philips/Norelco?) on a effective, affordable product!
