Pros: Region free, Great Sound, Progressive Scan
Cons: Lousy, functionless, small remote control
I have been searching for a quality progressive scan DVD player for weeks to replace my faulty jWIN VD-500, my search criteria were PROGRESSIVE SCAN, REGION FREE, and QUALITY - I was willing to pay whatever it takes,
DUH! I found this model and its on sale for $79, even cheaper than most non-progressive scan models out there, quality is fine, with everything I wanted plus more, the sound is much better than most DVD players I have owned, the only bad thing is the remote, you have to go thru the menus to get to many often used functions; such as Progressive scan, TV Type, screen type etc, and no night illumination on remote.
Making this player region free takes 5 seconds and it works perfectly, plays everything from anywhere so far. Dolby 2/5.1, DTS, 3:2 Pull Down, 192k/24Bit Audio DAC...
I have done the homeworks for most of you, you wont regret buying this baby! ('cept for the remote! )
BTW, if by now you still dont know how to hack this model, with tray open, enter 99990. thats it.
