Basically, there is no reason to buy any other DVD player.
First off, it is progressive..which is a big plus for us HDTV owners. Picture quality is very good. I actually tossed a more expensive Panasonic in favor of this unit (Panansonic made everything too dark and warm).
Menu's are straightforward, and documentation was well written and easy to follow.
Big bonus for me...it is easy to make to multi-region and has built in pal-ntsc conversion. So, if you ever think you want to watch DVD's from other countries, this does the job!
It basically handles anything you want to throw at it in terms of CDR's, VCD's, JPEG's. etc.
You can view Jpeg pictures, but like 99% of the DVD players out there, there is not a good "menu" for doing so. About the only player I have seen with a good interface is a Samsung (thumbnails, etc.) but the quality was spotty.
Only complaint is the remote. Too many small buttons that all feel the same when you are fumbling with them in the dark. But this is true for most DVD players.
You can easily find this for less than $100.
