My favorite DVD player so far

Author's Rating: Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: sound and picture quality, design

Cons: remote could be better, background of DVD player is ugly

The Bottom Line:
If you've never owned a DVD player before than this is a good one to get!

I've owned the Sony SPD-S360, Apex-3201, Apex AD-660 and another old Philips Magnavox player. This is the best DVD player i've owned so far.

The biggest different between this player and the others is the sound quality. The others can't compare. The picture quality seems to be pretty good also.

Seems they really designed this player and worked out all the bugs. I haven't experience many problems with it at all.

One word of warning: I purchased this player and after 15 days the DVD player died. Luckily I had my receipt and just exchanged it at the store.

This plays VCDs and SVCDs perfectly fine and just about every DVD i've thrown at it. This even played by Anamorphic PAL discs! Not perfectly, but they did play!

The only problem with this is that you can not place ANYTHING on top of it. Maybe this is normal, but if you do it does overheat. I couldn't figure out why it was skipping all the time until I took my VCR off of it. That fixed the problem for good.

The remote itself is pretty boring. It's hard to get used to, but it's not that bad I guess. It could be a little bigger and have larger buttons.
