Flawless first-person gameplay to die for. Special operative Joanna Dark flips the script on the predictable plots of first-person shooters, with a twisting storyline where aliens are allies and trust is a luxury which you can't afford. Players control Ms. Dark, who earned the nickname Perfect after graduating with top honors from the Carrington Institute. The action begins in the year 2023, when Joanna receives a distress signal from a troubled scientist held hostage in the heart of a monolithic corporation called dataDyne. Joanna's first mission is to infiltrate the heavily guarded corporate headquarters, and soon she finds herself in the epicenter of an intergalactic conspiracy set to explode. We don't want to spoil the surprises that pop up along the way, but it's safe to say that throughout her adventure Joann discovers the corrosive effect power and greed have on the human psyche. As an extra bonus, she's also a crucial player in a massive war between two alien species. Minimize

The Bottom Line:
Lara Croft Hentai

Author's Review
This is one game N64 owners have been waiting for almost forever. They have created the hype; they have made the customers drool with previews; and now they have released the game. The stage has been set for a perfect entrance, yet the challenge is big. This game has to live up to its predecessor, Goldeneye. A task that is hard to begin with, simply because Goldeneye is one of the only good action games available for N64. Or let me rephrase myself, Goldeneye was possibly the best First Person Shooter (FPS) available for a console until now. Indeed, this is one game that has caused many people to buy the Nintendo console itself. How can Rare possibly top such fame? Sex appeal and improvements. Render a bossy babe that makes Lara Croft look like a 3 dollar porn star, add that a suped up version of an already approved game play, and you have the perfect formula that will lead to success. Indeed, Perfect Dark is guaranteed to become a classic.

Game Play and Innovation 10/10
The single player game consists of putting you in charge of special agent Joanna Dark. The control scheme follows the perfect combination of Goldeneye, and is very easy to get used to. FPS games are usually about running around and killing as many enemies as you can without getting your health meter to 0. This style of game play used to work in earlier games such as Doom and Quake, but nowadays developers are realizing that players need more of an edge to get addicted. So we have had a lot of FPS games that rely on stealth and strategy than mindless shooting. Goldeneye was a superb game in that it was also dependent on stealth, and Perfect Dark follows its footsteps. Each mission has different and challenging objectives, and the enemies are a lot more smarter than they used to be.

The weapons are also quite creative and there are plenty of them about (somewhere near 50!). Almost everything has a special function much like in Half-Life. The simple guns, machine guns, and rocket launcher are still about, but than you also have the laptop gun. I guess this was thrown in by a wise-butt computer geek, but its quite innovative. And there is also Farsight. This one is kind of weird and I don't want to ruin the surprise, but let me give you a hint: how would you like to massacre someone minding his business 10 floors above you? *evil grin*

Goldeneye would have been a forgotten game if not for its insane multiplayer options. Perfect Dark hasn't forgotten that, and so you've got over 15 levels to kill your buddies in. There are a lot of characters to use, but the best part is the multitude of options available. Oh yeah, there is one more thing. You are going to like this one -- the simulants. What the heck is a simulant? Think of a simulant as a computer controlled player 2 and you've got the number. So you thought only PC games could accomplish that, but wrong! You can join multiplayer games against robots that are quite challenging to kill, mainly because the computer already knows where everything is! Many hours of practice against these guys will toughen you up for real human players. Moreover, you can use simulants to play cooperatively or against you in a multipayer game. Ruling.

Story Line 10/10
Not that it makes much of a difference in terms of multiplayer gaming, but unlike most FPS game out there, Dark also has a strong and solid story line. We are presented with X-files meets Conspiracy theory. Aliens are abound and the President has been duplicated. But you don't find any of this out immediately. Everything starts off with a normal mission, and the rest unfolds itself before you in an intriguing way.

Graphics and Sound 7/10
Unfortunately, the graphics engine is still the same as Goldeneye. Superb for N64, but sucky when compared to computer games. However, the frame rate is pretty smooth and I love seeing blood on those characters. Ok I can't let my excitement over this game delude me. The frame rate has a tendency to drop in hot situations. But so what, Thief series have proven that great graphics are only secondary to game play. The sound, on the other hand, is amazing. Windows cracking, machine guns firing, rockets exploding. Everything screams high action and fidelity.

Conclusion 10/10
If you have an N64, buy this game today. If not, call up your friend that does. I don't think I can actually recommend anyone to buy the N64 console just for this one, but do rent it out and see. I spent 20$ on rentals just so I could play this game. And no, the money I make from this review is not going to cover it.
