I bought this camera a day before leaving for a 10 day vacation in France. The size was was what initially prompted me to buy this camera, however I have been very impressed with the quality. There are also a lot of bells and whistles if you do more than point and click (i.e a graphic white meter that superimposes in the LCD window-very cool!).
I used the camera for about 4 days, taking about 35-40 shots before having to replace the battery. I was very impressed with the battery life.
I cannot comment on the picture quality or the software as I have yet to download the pictures to my PC.
I found that with my previous camera, I did not use it as much as I would have liked as it was very bulky and often left it at home. The Pentax Optio S camera slips into your shirt pocket-it is absolutely tiny.
True, it is a little on the expensive side. However, you are paying for the design. If small is what you want-this is the one!
