Pentax Optio S60 is it worth it?

Pros:  Yes if other cameras have same easy to use features, and nice images.

Cons: No-if shutter problem and LCD screen is consistent problem with this line of cameras.

I bought this compact camera last summer via an internet retailer. Outside of the short battery life (even with rechargeable batteries- you will run through 2 of them easily in less than a week); it was functioning pretty well.
I am an amateur photographer, this is a great camera to use if you are just beginning to use digital cameras. It has a variety of features and was great in the ease of the product as soon as you get it out of the box.
Personally, unlike the other reviewers, I think that the images are fine for my everyday usage of the camera.

The drawback is approximately 3 months after I had it, the shutter kept getting stuck along with the screen having a persistant white image.
Good news- the Pentax customer service representatives were very nice. I sent the camera back to the company and they fixed it in a period of 2 weeks (under warranty).
