Pros: Easy to use, good picture taker in a package too convenient to leave behind.
Cons: Lightweight,compact battery provides good but not great number of pictures.
Despite the diminutive size and light weight, the Pentax Optio S is big on features, durability, easy to use and produces good images. Bought the camera for my wife who was loath to carry even a compact 35mm point and shoot. Both of us enjoy carrying and using this camera. It has plenty of user friendly features; for example, the LCD conveniently shows you where you are in both the optical and digital zoom ranges. Durability was tested when the camera slid off a pile of magazines on a table 30" above a concrete floor - the corner of the Altoids case was dented but the camera was undamaged. Start up times are short. Optically, the colors are truer than from the Nikon CoolPix 5000 that we used for comparison. 8" x 10" inkjet prints were very sharp when pictures were taken at the maximum resolution. Even flash pictures in a dark restaurant came out well. The audio recorder and alarm clock are icing on the cake.
