Panasonic HDTV 32 LCD Flat Screen

Pros: Fantastic color, good contrast, no streaking or trailing, good audio from inboard speakers
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line:
Unconditionally endorsed. Buy this product without reservation if you can afford it.
We purchased this model from Ultimate Electronics on January 3rd. Our budget was to stay under $3,000 for the set and the wall mount. We spent a great deal of time at Best Buy, Circuit City, American and Ultimate Electronics.
My wife and I looked at many, many LCD TVs before deciding "this was the one." The first impression was comparative color. The Panasonic 32" was vibrant and true to nature in our eyes. Contrast was good, depending upon the content. That is always a major issue -- some movies and TV programs have better quality production than others. And some cable/satellite channels are sharper than others. All in all, when the program is of finer quality, the PANASONIC LCD 32 is superb.
We are using DishTV for our inbound programming source and, yes, we have HDTV. WOW. Let me say this again. WOW. We are stunned at the sharpness, brightness and clarity of this set with HDTV. It does make all the difference in the world. We are nuts for baseball and that is what got us interested in HDTV last summer watching the Cardinals on ESPN HD. We were amazed at the image. From there we shopped around and made our decision to buy after the holidays.
We have a mid-range JVC DVD player and the picture on the Panasonic is drop dead gorgeous. My wife cannot believe the quantum leap from our Sony tube. This Sony is a terrific tube set -- but the LCD blows it away. DVDs are crisp and razor sharp with most titles. There is a bit of shimmy or shift in some older titles. Newer DVDs have never looked stronger.
I particularly like that I can customize up to four color/brightness/sharpness settings and recall them at the touch of a button. This allows me to lighten or darken some programs that just need a little touch up.
The remote is very easy to use. Set up was almost a 1-2-3 sequence. The instruction book is very good and the onscreen prompts are user friendly. There are few decisions to make.
The sound is awesome, even without the home theater system. I was impressed when we first powered up with the audio quality. It works very well standing all by itself. But, with the home theater system in place, it performs beyond my expectations.
The case is stylish and we like the black border surrounding the LCD display. It frames the image and we feel that is a visual enhancement.
We hate nothing about this investment. There are no dislikes, either. We have watched it steadily for more than a week and have absolutely no buyers remorse.
Panasonic has created a terrific piece of equipment and I recommend it without reservation.
Amazingly, Ultimate knocked more than $450 off the sticker price, too boot. (and not for a display model!) As well, they offered some incentives with the four-year warranty that were attractive. This really made our decision and easy one.
