Compact and versatile, the PV-DV203 Digital Palmcorder MultiCam? Camcorder from Panasonic offers features that produce high quality videos and stills. It combines a digital camcorder, digital still camera and teleconferencing Web camera capabilities, all in one easy-to-use camcorder. The Palmcorder offers several shooting options, digital effects, and quick and easy connection to a computer using either the IEEE 1394 (i.LINK) or USB interface. The progressive PhotoShot? mode eliminates fuzziness by digitally capturing the image data of a singular moment, and temporarily storing it in two field memories. The two images are then combined to produce a better quality picture. With the Picture-in-Picture mode you can insert a previously taken digital still image into the video you?re recording. Digital EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) compensates for unintentional hand and camcorder movement to help stabilize your recordings. This feature reduces jitter when recording as a passenger in a car or while walking.

Pros: fun and easy to use, good home videos, easy to edit

At such a great price, this quality camcorder is tough to pass up!
The PV-DV203 comes equipped to transform from a digital camera, to a camcorder and even to a webcam. There are also many special effects and other extras that can keep a user busy for hours, but that would be too many to list, so I'll just review the functions that I use most often.
Basics:
Camcorder Video Quality: The video quality is great when replayed on the camcorder itself using the VCR mode, but when seen on the tv screen it may be a little grainy, depending on what type of light you were under. This can be fixed a couple of ways with the different lighting functions, such as MagicPix, which is handy in low light. There is also a built in light to help guide you in the dark.
Webcam Picture Quality The quality of the webcam is not the best quality. I would rather use my $30 logitech webcam then use my camcorder as a webcam.
Snapshot Picture Quality After the picture is taken it turns grainy, but it works. It may not be the best picture quality, but to capture those moments that just have to be remembered, using the Snapshot feature is very handy.
Special Effects:
Sepia: This turns your film into a sepia color, which makes the effect of very old films.
Black and White: This gives the effect of a black and white film. This makes for fun creativity.
Trail: With this feature turned on, everything you record leaves a trail. This reminds me of drunkeness.
Image Stabilization This feature cuts out the nauseas shaking that is often found in homemade videos. The only downside is that it only works when the zoom is not in use.
User Friendliness:
The camcorder is extremely easy to use, I got the hang of it after about 20 minutes of playing with it. It is easy to set up the camcorder to hook up to your computer and tv. Everything is well placed. The camcorder can turn into a mini theatre by flpping the LCD easy view screen around and closing it so that it faces outward.
