It works well as a video camera, but don't take photos with it

Pros: Price, features, video quality.
Cons: battery/mains design.
The Bottom Line:
Whatever the other bells and whistles mean to you, and however you rate it because of them, fundamentally it is a Camcorder and as a Camcorder it is very good.
I read a load of reviews and tested out a number of Camcorders in electronics shops before deciding on the DV102 and I must say that I have not been disappointed with it.
While some complain of it's bad quality as a digital camera and it's woeful implementation of USB for video transfer, I didn't buy it as a still camera (I have a Kodak DC4800 for that, it's great!) and, while I admit that the USB feature did appeal to me, I bought a FireWire card with cable and software on EBay for $25 to transfer the movies to my PC.
I bought the DV102 to take good, digital home movies that I can publish on my web site for my family overseas and it works great for this.
My only complaints are the supplied battery's life sucks and that you can either recharge the battery or use the power adapter for the camera but not both at the same time. You also have to take the battery out of the camera to use it on the mains. You would think that you should be able to plug the camera in and do your video transfers while recharging the battery, but no.
Other than that, no problems.
Buy a spare long life battery.
