Portable DVD players have lots of positives going for them. They're great for viewing DVD Video virtually anywhere and can also be used for listening to CDs. On long road trips, portable DVD players are the best things to help entertain the kids and subdue wild behaviors in cramped spaces. The drawback, until now, has been the limited Battery life during play back. The built-in rechargeable battery of the DVD-LS90 nearly triples it by offering a realistic 6 hours of play time. Pros: size of screen, "real remote", build quality.
Cons: Resolution terrible, Gimicky "adjustable screen" no video in/component out.
This DVD player is not good for a person who has owned or seen progressive scan or High def anything. The resolution is terrible. I thought i had a gameboy advance screen in it for a minute. the pixels are huge and makes everything look blocky. aside from that, the colors...contrast and sharpness are top notch. But i couldnt reccomend unless it was for a child. I returned it and got the phillips pet1000 w/ 10.2 inch which has many more features and a 100x better looking screen. and it was the same price.
