Portable DVD players have lots of positives going for them. They're great for viewing DVD Video virtually anywhere and can also be used for listening to CDs. On long road trips, portable DVD players are the best things to help entertain the kids and subdue wild behaviors in cramped spaces. The drawback, until now, has been the limited Battery life during play back. The built-in rechargeable battery of the DVD-LS90 nearly triples it by offering a realistic 6 hours of play time. This opens lots more opportunities to enjoy the Panasonic DVD-LS90. Minimize

I Agree with the reviewer on May 22

Pros: Battery Life. Sound is good. Easy to set up and use.

Cons: Screen resolution is grainy and/or blocky.

The Bottom Line:
This unit is too expensive for the screen quality. I gave it a 2 for durability because the clam shell screen is difficult to open. I can't recommend.

I agree with the earlier review. I just purchased this unit last night, June 3rd. The screen resolution is blocky. I watched a movie for 15 minutes and got a headache. Also, I put in a movie that was in letterbox format. The image in letterbox is only 2 inches wide on this screen. When I zoomed in to make the image larger, the picture got so grainy you would rather gouge your own eyes out rather than watch. The sound is good and the rated battery life is great. 4 to 6 hours battery life, although I definitely don't think anyone would be able to stand watching it that long. Oddly enough, I also just purchased the Philips PET1000 the next day, June 4th. There is absolutely no comparison and it is exactly the same price. A 10.2 inch screen with an 800 X 480 resolution. Letterbox comes in at about 4 inches wide with black bars on the top and bottom. Zoom in to fill the screen, looks great. The battery life is only 2.5 to 3 hours and since this unit just hit the market, a second battery isn't available for purchase yet. (no, I don't work for Philips)
