Pros: Almost razor blade close, cheaper than Braun.
Cons: Still cost over $125, cleaner refill cartridges are $5 each.
The Bottom Line:
This razor is just plain way better than the Braun.
The Panasonic is very close to shaving with a blade. There is very little vibration which makes the shaving very comfortable. The Vortex cleaning system works as well as the Braun system, but does not use alcohol. I am absolutely giddy about this razor.
I have been using an electric razor for about two years. Previously I was using a Braun 7000 series. I chose the Braun because of the automatic cleaning, charging stand. And, I read alot of reviews that gave it high marks. The actual shave was okay, not near as close as a blade, but okay for day to day use. The other day the cleaning/charging stand broke. The portion that pushes down to engage the the charging receptacle of the razor would not lock into place. I read another reviewer that mentioned the same problem about the Braun.
I decided to try a different brand for my replacement. I picked the Panasonic because of the wet shave capability. My first shave was amazing. Very little vibration which makes it very comfortable to shave with. The head floats up and down and pivots right and left. The blades cut at a 30 degree angle and as I said earlier, very little vibration. And the actual shave is much closer than with the Braun. Still not as close as a blade, but much closer than the Braun.
