My family has owned the Oster 6640 Cube 10-Speed Blender for several years now.  We "blend" a lot in our home so we tend to wear blenders out in a short time.  We have purchased the expensive ones, the mid range ones, and the cheap ones.  They all seem to last about the same amount of time.  We use our blender for everything from salsa to slim fast shakes with lots of ice.  When we purchased the Oster 6640 Cube 10-Speed Blender we were not very optomistic about it lasting, because of the price.  We only paid around $20.00 for this item over three years ago.  I am happy to report that this little blender has outlasted all the previous blenders we have purchased.  It doesn't have all the fancy dials, it's just your basic 10 speed push button version, but it does even the toughest of jobs.  I actually prefer the push button version because it is so easy to understand and use.  The buttons are labeled, Grate, blend, grind, liquify and ice crush (on high) and stir, puree, chop, whip and mix (on low).  It has everything you need.  This blender has never overheated and we have worked it hard on a daily basis.  You can't beat this item for the price. 

This blender is easy to use and is a cinch to clean up.  There are only a few parts to remove to deep clean the blender and they go back together well.  You do need to make sure you get the rubber ring in right, or it will leak. 

I recently went to the store to purchase another blender for my workplace (did I mention I like to blend?) and yes, you guessed it, I purchased another Oster 6640 Cube 10-Speed Blender.  I was looking at all the other models with their cool high tech settings - they are mostly digital now with timers, etc.  They were so confusing and so much money.  Then I saw the basic Oster 6640 Cube 10-Speed Blender for only 20 bucks and snatched the last one!  The new version is pretty much the same as the old one, except the container/lid has a little different shape.  I love them both and use them every day.
