Great Pictures, Lots of functions

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Awesome pictures, clear, crisp.

Cons: Too many buttons & features. Bad/Blurry pics in low light.

The Bottom Line:
Beginners should take a photography course before purchasing this camera.

Author's Review
I'm not a professional photographer. As a matter of fact, I don't know anything about pictures other than point and shoot.

I do home-based desktop publishing and web design so I need a good camera. This one is 8MP

This camera has LOTS of features and I only know 2 or 3 even so, I manage to get good pictures out of it.

A great feature is that it has built in video and sound recorder. Before, I needed a video capture card to transfer my videos to my PC - not anymore. Your files are stored as quicktime files. Of course, don't expect the quality image as with a regular camera.

This camera has a viewing screen which pops out and fold outward for better viewing in awkward positions. It has come in very handy, like when I need to move the camera above my head, I can tilt the screen down and have a good view.

I have found that it is nearly impossible taking good pictures in low lighting unless you have a tripod. Outdoor pictures are outstanding. Indoor pictures require a tripod.

If you're not familiar with 35mm or digital cameras, I suggest this camera is overkill. I love it but I still find it very complicated.

If you buy it, read the user manual and then buy a photography training book to better understand.
