Pros: Zoom, Zoom Zoom!!!! Did I forget to mention the ZOOM!!!
Cons: Can be complicated to find some functions. 16M xD card is too small.
The Bottom Line:
Best long zoom digital under $500!
I have had a c-740 for a few days and think it is a great camera. I was looking for a x5 optical zoom, 3MP+ for under $500 and this camera fits the bill nicely. (Others in the category are the Fuji 3800 and HP 850). This camera offers a 10x optical zoom and full manual control including focus. The pictures I have taken have been crisp and it has performed well. I will probably leave my Canon EOS 630 at home now.
Can be complicated to find all of the commands ... manual focus is buried in a menu. The printed manual is a bit skimpy on details and usage.
