For 1997, the Eighty-Eight is available in two models - Base and LS. The Eighty-Eight, other than minor changes for the new year, remains relatively unchanged. Some of the minor changes to the Eighty-Eights interior include a restructuring of the seats. The 55/45 split bench seat have been redesigned, the bucket seats are now available with driver and passenger power adjustments (standard on the LS) and the driver side power seat is now standard. The interior also received a standard AM/FM radio with cassette and a six speaker Dimensional Sound System. Five new exterior paint colors were added to replace the five colors that were deleted and new Oldsmobile exterior badging have been added. The Buick LaSabre is the sister car to the Eighty-Eight.
